Groenemann & Summit Aircraft Sales began in 2007 as a joint venture between Don Groenemann, an industry veteran, and Summit Helicopters, Inc. of Roanoke, Virginia. The combined forces of Groenemann and Summit Helicopters represents over six decades of expertise not only in aircraft sales but also in helicopter operations and maintenance. Together they buy, sell, and offer brokering services on exceptional pre-owned aircraft. In addition, they offer complete helicopter refurbishment to meet most any specification as well as top quality maintenance services.
Prior to launching Groenemann & Summit Aircraft Sales, Don Groenemann had a rich history in aircraft sales and marketing. He led the pre-owned aircraft sales division for Bell Helicopters for over nine years in which time nearly 250 aircraft were sold. Don has also served as VP of Sales for MBB (now Eurocopter) and VP of Sales for Evergreen Helicopters.
Summit Helicopters, Inc. has been serving the commercial helicopter industry since 1980. Throughout its 30-year history of operating and maintaining helicopters, Summit has also become expertly skilled in providing solutions for aircraft completions in the EMS, Law Enforcement and Corporate markets utilizing the Bell 206B, 206L 407, 205, and 212. Summit Helicopters is an approved Customer Service Facility for Bell Helicopter Textron. They are also approved dealers with major avionics manufacturers such as: Chelton, Garmin, NAT, Avidyne and Technisonic.

The Bell 205A++ featured on the cover of this month’s issue of The Helicopter Newspaper is one of two Bell 205A++ models that are currently being overhauled and restored by Summit Helicopters, Inc. Both aircraft are offered for sale by Groenemann & Summit Aircraft Sales.
The high performing Bell 205A1++ has the enhanced -17B Lycoming engine as well as the 212 drive train including all the major gearboxes which are freshly overhauled. This rare, high powered helicopter is in great demand throughout the world as a fire fighting and heavy lift helicopter.
Groenemann, President of Groenemann & Summit Aircraft Sales has noted a recent turn in the worldwide demand in the medium twin helicopters market. Groenemann reports, “Despite this year’s financial crisis worldwide, our company’s sales of medium twin helicopters have recently seen a significant increase.”
Groenemann & Summit Aircraft Sales have sold or have under contract a total of five of their Bell 412s listings. Groenemann continues, “In the third quarter of 2009 we began to see a marked surge in activity and inquiries from around the world. In fact, two of our listed Bell 412EP offshore models have recently closed and are being delivered to the Far East. A third Bell 412SP is scheduled to close in September with the remaining two 412’s now “pending” final contract negotiations.”
